Farm act urged by Ohio Farm Bureau official
Chester H. Gray of the American Farm Bureau Federation urged Ohio farmers at the state convention to back adjustment measures by the National Administration. He called for a permanent plan to retire acreage when needed and suggested amending the farm act to let cooperating farmers and federal authority raise production if required. Secretary Wallace urged Congress to maintain crop control, warning disaster if abandoned. He cited Ohio crop value for 1934 up 34 percent from last year and noted progress yet unmet objectives. The talk stressed trimming output no more than feasible and easing factory prices to lift farmer income.
