Driver Unknown in Route 20 Fatal Crash
Sheriff Clarence Adams and deputies work to identify the automobile driver who struck and killed William G. Creswell 74 of Oberlin as he walked on Route 20 early yesterday. Creswell suffered fractured ribs a broken arm and a fractured skull. Funeral services will be held at Nichols Funeral Home tomorrow morning with burial in Pittsfield cemetery at 10 AM. He is survived by two sisters one in Massachusetts and the other in Gallipolis, Ohio.

Man faces murder charge after double shooting
Michael Benzak, 28, an Eaton Township farm hand, is in critical condition with a .22 caliber bullet lodged at the base of his brain. Sheriff Clarence Adams says first degree murder charges will be filed if he recovers. The victim, 21 year old Alice Dernier Wedic of Grafton, was found shot in a car on Durkes Road. Deputies believe Benzak fired the first shot then returned to finish her off and later shot himself. jealousy is suspected.

A contract for rough grading and construction of driveways and two sidewalks at the tuberculosis sanatorium, costing about $6,000, was let to Elytia Construction Company by the county building commission. Seven Gages Of Mail Stolen From Nickel Plate Depot
Seven sacks of United States mail were stolen from the Nickel Plate railroad depot in St. Marys as police county officers and banks alerted. An immediate search for the robbers began and postal inspector J. F. Fordrey headed to St. Marys to investigate. Three sacks had been taken similarly at Celina on November 2, with one check from that robbery recently cashed in a Lima bank.

Unidentified gunman-robber was shot to death in a wooded lot battle with two patrolmen in East Cleveland. Arnold Ekberg of Chicago, a creosoting company superintendent, was wounded.
