South America Discussed At Elyria Rotary Meeting

Charles W. Hunt of Standard Oil in Chile told Elyria Rotary Club that South America is the big future market for the United States, citing needs for road and rail machinery and factory equipment as the region remains underdeveloped. He warned U S loans have sparked unpopularity in several nations and described Chile’s exports and transport limits amid tariff barriers and nitrate and copper production declines. Hunt noted Chile’s 2,600 mile long coastline and 4,000,000 people while stressing U S ties and industry support.
