TOLEDO, O. November 16 There were extra jobs in Toledo today shoveling snow in the heaviest November blizzard ever recorded here. A 9 inch snow blanket covered streets and houses halting traffic and business. State commissioner William Debree mobilized 500 workers and 70 trucks to clear routes as interurbans street cars planes and buses lagged behind schedule. The morning snowfall continued from the west as a frigid wave threatened the state.

Elderly Man Hit By Auto Near La Porte Home
Clinton Tate, 80, of Butternut Ridge road, near La Porte, was struck by a truck while walking on the road yesterday evening. He suffered a possible fractured skull and other serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital, where his condition was listed as critical today. The truck, driven by Earl Foss and accompanied by Robert Dietrich, was owned by Frank Harrison. Sheriff Clarence Adams investigated the accident.
