Akron trio pleads to grand larceny in wire theft case
David Myers Claude Banks and A L Garren of Akron were arrested Sunday night as they allegedly tried stealing a large quantity of copper wire from Cleveland and Southwestern. They pled guilty in polices court to grand larceny and were bound over to the grand jury, sent to county jail pending their case. Conviction carries penitentiary time.

Negro leper begins ten year term in Carville
In Baton Rouge Louisiana Edward Payton a Negro leper with an estimated twelve years to live began a ten year federal sentence for killing Lloyd Richardson a fellow inmate at the federal leprosarium in Carville. The trial opened in federal court yesterday and was believed the first murder trial of a leper in continental United States. Payton pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to the minimum term in solitary confinement at the leprosarium.
