Climbers face possible rescue bill at Yosemite peak

18 Yanks killed as lull in Viet fighting ends
In Saigon, UPI reports Communist forces escalated attacks, killing 18 Americans and wounding 64 over two days after a 48 hour lull with no US deaths. Spokesmen said nine Americans died and 21 wounded Thursday, plus nine dead and 43 injured yesterday amid continued South Vietnamese fighting on the ground.

FBI arrests man indicted in Mall theft case
Cleveland man Joseph William Drago, 45, indicted by a Lorain County grand jury for a 1968 theft of 43000 from a Midway Mall bank, was arrested in Farrell Pennsylvania by FBI agents. Arrest followed a joint Cleveland police and FBI probe on a federal unlawful flight to avoid prosecution warrant.

Elyria Father Dies From Route 24 Crash Injuries
An Elyria man Donald A Masters 39 died at St Joseph Hospital Lorain from injuries after a collision at Route 24 and Elyna Avenue Sheffield Township Thursday morning. His four year old son Patrick also died. Andrew Zilka 41 and Mrs Zilka were injured. Masters worked for Crest Weed Construction Co. The crash remains under State Highway Patrol investigation.

Striking United Steel Workers Local 1242 and Local 4849 remain out on strike at the Koehring Co Lorain Division over contract terms. Management spokesman Richard A Stith said no future meetings are scheduled. Local 1242 rejected the latest offer removing incentive pay but proposing a higher base pay raise. Local 4849 discussed contract language but did not accept it. Both groups want incentive pay restored and base pay increases set to take effect in August 1971.
