UAW president Woodcock indicated full settlements with General Motors Ford and Chrysler may occur after New Year's Day as ratification proceeds. GM council approved the tentative four to one pact with a 60 day strike threat looming for GM workers and a November 20 ballot deadline. The tentative deal includes wage increases about 51 cents an hour first year, retiree formula changes, and a 30-and-out retirement plan with quarterly adjustments beginning December 6, 1971.
