Body found in field unidentified by Erie County officials
The Erie County coroner said it will be weeks to months before investigators identify a badly decomposed body found east of Huron near Camp Road and Route 2. Details remain unclear as anthropology and DNA tests are needed to determine age, sex, height and weight. The body, fully clothed, was discovered by two youths and sent to Lucas County for testing. Police have not ruled out foul play and are reviewing other cases while noting the victim's remains may have lain hidden for weeks.
