Elyria hotel formerly Holiday Inn on Lorain Boulevard now operates as the Inn of Elyria after a franchise cancellation. Beal Bank foreclosed after loan defaults. the property was sold at sheriff's auction and later listed for sale. Managed by Hospitality Management Advisors, the 248-room hotel maintains Mr. D's Restaurant and Pub and plans upgrades and added services.

Power outage empties Grafton businesses and streets

Electrical outages hit Columbia Station Eaton Lorain townships
A transformer failure cut power for about 3,000 residents in Columbia Station and Eaton Township while Lorain city lost power for around 75 minutes. Ohio Edison spokesman Mark Durbin said crews had no cause pinpointed. Police redirected traffic at major intersections as firefighters handled false alarms and elevator rescues.
