Bank Robbery Report Near Midway Mall in Elyria
Authorities seek a white male about 5 feet 8 inches tall 170 to 180 pounds who robbed First Place Bank at 361 Midway Blvd on Wednesday. He wore light blue coveralls a red baseball cap and work boots and fled on foot behind Marc's store after handing a teller a note demanding money. No weapon seen and no getaway vehicle reported. Tracking security footage is ongoing.

Starnes guilty in bank heists
Robert Starnes, 39, of Sheffield Lake, convicted in Akron federal court of two armed bank robberies and one bank robbery in three Lorain County robberies. Jury deliberated five hours before verdict. sentencing set for December 29 with up to 20 years possible. He allegedly robbed a Chase Bank in Sheffield Lake on July 23.
