Elyria and surrounding county joined a grand parade and post election speeches celebrating a Republican victory. Crowds filled Broad Street with horns bells and flags while dignitaries including Mayor Jones and a large contingent of women voters joined the procession. Joyce Murder Trial Opens in Cleveland

The Joyce murder trial opens in Cleveland with John W Joyce, a former downtown saloonkeeper, charged with killing Harold Kagy. Joyce and his counsel promise sensational evidence to show he did not fire the shot. Chief Justice Wo Ho McGarr Non says he was with Joyce and Kagy before the shooting, likely among the 29 witnesses. Manning Struck by Truck in Narrow Bicycle Incident

W B Manning of 410 Hast nove ne narrowly escaped death yesterday afternoon when struck by a large truck near his home. He was riding a bicycle, was thrown to the pavement, and the truck stopped just before his head. He suffered several bruises but was not seriously hurt.

Police arrest Gust Albert and Alf Taylor in an alley by the Telegram office. Albert is charged with resisting an officer and Taylor with obstructing an officer in the discharge of duty. They are fined 15 dollars and costs in police court by Mayor Jones this morning.

Strike Ends As Elyria Barbers Reach Agreement

The Elyria barber strike begun September 15 was settled last evening. Eight insurgent shops receive union cards, six deserters are reinstated, and the Wednesday half holiday order is revoked.
