Three members of a Wakeman family were fatally injured and a fourth is in critical condition after a Route 99 crash near Monroeville at 6 p m yesterday. Walter Didelius 53 and his children Hilda 20 and Richard 15 died at the scene. wife Minna Didelius who is in Norwalk Hospital with a fractured skull and scalp injuries. The truck driver fled. Walter Was a Wakeman mailman and a Mason Lodge and Eastern Star member.

Thomas Gray longtime Elyria shoe merchant died at his home 320 Eighth Street Saturday after a period of illness heart trouble. At 9:50 a m tomorrow his funeral mass will be held at St Marys Church conducted by Rev Father James T Daley. Gray established his Broad Street store in 1879 and ran it daily from 7:30 am, making early sales before rivals. He is survived by wife Katherine, three sons Richard John and Robert, sister Jane Gray and four grandchildren. The Welsh Funeral Home handles arrangements.

Oberlin College Student Dies After Bicycle Crash
Oberlin College sophomore Donald Ray Perry, 19, was fatally struck on Route 20 near Oberlin while cycling back from an ornithology trip. Driver David Burgess, 19, said his car lights failed and swerved. Perry died two hours later at Allen Memorial Hospital from multiple fractures. Elaine Hott, also 19, was uninjured. Coroner ruled accidental death. no charges expected.

Cleveland Ohio November reports former U S Senator from Ohio Lee Pomerene aged 73 is seriously ill with pneumonia for two weeks and in critical condition at his apartment. Lone bandit robs couple near Amherst on Kobe Road
A man armed with a 38 caliber pistol robbed Richard De Long of Cleveland and Flora Sabiers of Amherst while they sat in their car on Kobe Road at 4 00 p m Friday. SHANGHAT November 8 Part of the city of Sungkiang southern terminal of the Chinese defense line has been occupied by Japanese troops a Japanese communique said. Advancing up the Pao tung peninsula to isolate Chinese forces from Shanghai the Japanese report heavy casualties. A Chinese spokesman said civilians had been evacuated from Sungkiang as air bombardments hit several cities. Chinese troops were said to be moving south and east to trap the Japanese in a pincers movement. A Japanese force crossed the Wangpoo river 170 miles south of the city. General Iwane Matsui predicted isolation of the Chinese from Shanghai by tomorrow night.

Stalled Auto Hit By Train Five Children Die In Crash
An inquest will be held today into the deaths of five children killed when their stalled automobile lay on railroad tracks at a grade crossing and was struck by a passenger train near Knox City Missouri. The victims include Asjohn White 15 driver Marjorie 10 James 8 Mary Jane Tarpin 14 and Le roy McEvoy 15. The Tarpin family home was in LaBelle Missouri.

Mansfield Man Hurt In Accident Near Wellington
Howard Ackleman of Mansfield suffered a cut artery and other injuries when his car crashed into a telephone pole near the state game farm in Wellington about midnight. A passing motorist applied first aid, tying a handkerchief around his wrist. F L Hagnon, vice president of Ideal Manufacturing Co of Mansfield, escaped unhurt and helped move Ackleman to Mansfield. The car was completely demolished.

Farm Near Wellington Supposed Blaze Destroys Barn and Straw
Fire of undetermined origin yesterday afternoon destroyed a shoephed and fence and 25 tons of straw on a farm southeast of Van Gates and Hive on the farm. Miss Margaret Warner and Miss Ware Ner own the property. Wellington firefighters battled the blaze, preventing spread to a large barn. The cause remained under investigation.
