Two Berlin Heights residents, Philip Sprankle, 57, and Alvena Sprankle, 48, were injured yesterday when their car was struck by a truck on Route 59 east of Birmingham. The truck skidded as the driver braked around a curve. The Sprankles were hospitalized at Amherst Hospital with facial and rib injuries and forehead and nose lacerations respectively. The truck driver, A Wagenstein, 59, Elyria, was taken home by William Emery Jr. Both vehicles were damaged. Sheriff's deputies Emil Kubishke and Chalmers Davidson investigated.
