Shultz to decide Demjanjuk fate on Israel extradition
Secretary of State George P. Shultz will determine within two months whether John Demjanjuk will be sent to Israel for trial on war crimes. Demjanjuk, a 65 year old Seven Hills resident, lost U.S. citizenship in 1981 for lying about his World War II guard past at Treblinka. The case, in the Justice Department and now a State Department matter, followed a Cincinnati court ruling upholding extradition authority but labeling the decision as a government issue.
