Jimmy Hamilton and the rebirth of Cleveland's Terminal Tower
Jimmy Hamilton, 75, longtime electrician for Terminal Tower, has witnessed Cleveland’s rise, fall, and resurgence. The 708-foot complex once hosted a grand concourse now revitalized with painted halls, new shops, and 24 hour security. Hamilton recalls the 1976 hostage incident that closed the observation deck and the ensuing civic tours while expressing pride in the building and his plan to stay on the job as long as possible.

Young tells OC grads to dream
Oberlin College's Class of 1982 heard Andrew Young, former U N ambassador and Atlanta mayor, urge graduates to dream courageously amid history. He warned of North South and East West tensions, calling for nonviolent change, global interdependence, and a path to peace as 550 degrees were awarded. Rainy weather briefly altered the ceremony with plastic capes worn by many students.
