Desperate Kansas convicts seize hostages in prison escape
Eleven desperadoes fled Kansas state penitentiary after a mutiny. They split into groups, using hostages including an invalid woman and two girls as shields. One group freed three women at a Pleasanton farm before moving into Oklahoma, while officers hunted through Kansas and Missouri.
