NEW YORK AP The American steel industry must raise productivity, fight imports, and raise funds to modernize and trim operations amid its worst slump since the Great Depression. At the American Iron and Steel Institute meeting US Steel Chairman David Roderick urged focus on four areas and warned employment will keep shrinking despite upgrades.
