Chuck Cole an 18 year old Clearview High School student is credited with saving two Lorain boys about 10 years old who fell into the Stop 7 quarry three miles north of Elyria. He stripped to his underwear and swam to reach them then carried one boy to a rocky ledge and guided the other back to shore with help from a friend. The boys were later taken to safety as residents watched in relief.
