Boat Burns Off Cedar Point Bay. Man Escapes Aboard Raft
Bay Village resident Richard Beurmann, 57, escaped a fire on his 25-foot Morgan 24 sailboat two miles north of Cedar Point, using a grandchildren kept raft. The blaze started after he dropped canned heat and lamp oil ignited carpet. he was rescued after 5 to 10 minutes. Coast Guard alerted at 9:15 a.m. with Beurmann treated for hand burns. The damaged boat was towable to shore and deemed unreparable, estimated at about $28,000.

A 39 year old Lorain man Mariano Gracia Jr was shot and killed in a Cleveland residence after three armed men entered the home on Lorain Ave They asked for narcotics money and guns and fled the scene police said Gracia died from a gunshot wound to the neck at Lakewood Hospital The motive and suspects remain under investigation.
