In Warren Ohio on May 28 a WPA worker named John Baugh, 25, was wounded in the ankle by a pistol fire at the Republic Steel Corp plant during picket lines. Alvin Morton, 46, said to be assaulted earlier by pickets, returned with a pistol and fired at the pickets. guards fired back. No others were hurt and several shots were fired at the Brier Hill Works by guards, with three pickets briefly detained before release.

Police investigated a burglary at Rev. Lawrence W. Budny’s Holy Cross church area home and the sisters’ home within the same building complex. About 375 dollars were stolen, roughly half in cash, from a cedar chest and wardrobe boxes. A window was broken to enter the pastor’s home.
