John D. Rockefeller Sr was laid to rest in Cleveland today's burial at Lakeview cemetery between his wife and mother. The service was read by Rev Willard S Richardson of New York. Only close relatives attended as Rockefeller and his five sons joined mourners from the Rockefeller household. The funeral followed a New York estate service and a train procession through East Cleveland. Rockefeller met Laura Spellman in Cleveland when he was a boy of fourteen and began his rise from a $4 weekly office boy to founder of a vast oil fortune.

Mrs W L Fay of Elyria receives word that Lamartine Brooks Fay died after a long illness at his Boston home. Born March 9 1887 in Elyria he moved to New England fourteen years ago. Twin brother Lawrence T Fay travels to Boston to bring body and Mrs Fay back for services at 3 pm Saturday at his mother's home with burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery. He leaves wife Edith and mother Mrs W L Fay and siblings Mrs E Gray Linney Roanoke VA Mrs Florence Jaster Oberlin Mrs M B Wilboa and Misses Josephine and Winifred Fay.

Proposal To Close Murray Ridge School Debated Tuesday
The Elyria Township school board will discuss a plan to close Murray Ridge School at 8 p m Tuesday at the school. The proposal would send jig students to Lake Avenue and Murray Ridge Schools and could save about 4300 a year, with higher savings for music and art salaries. The discussion meeting was moved from Friday to avoid a scheduling conflict.

Pickets At Youngstown Plants Close Factories
Two Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company plants with 14 000 workers were closed today after a steel workers organizing committee strike call. About 2 000 pickets patrolled the Mahoning valley plants at Youngstown Warren Niles and nearby areas. Pickets carried baseball bats bricks and broomsticks around Campbell and Brier Hill plants. Gates were barred by the company. Police reported the incident mainly quiet with one minor disturbance. A Republic Steel employee George Simison 28 was slightly injured when he was restrained by pickets passing through. Mayors closed all liquor establishments as the scene unfolded.

In Santa Maria California May 27 bodies of two women and a man burned beyond recognition were recovered from a flaming chartered cabin plane. The pilot Rod Keenan of Burbank was thrown clear and killed.
