Hillier Named to Fill Elyria County Commissioner Seat
W. J. Hillier a Republican ex business man and former county official was appointed by a three member board to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Charles E. Tucker. Hillier will serve until the November 1984 election to complete Tucker's term. The appointment follows strong support from the Republican County Executive Committee. Hillier, who arrived in Elyria in 1895, has long civic business ties and formerly held roles including hotel operator and county commissioner. He will be sworn in by Probate Judge H. C. Wilcox and faces a $5,000 bond.
