Paris to New York in under ten hours by high speed airliners

M. Paul Painleve, former French premier and Wright ally, predicts giant trans Atlantic planes could cut Paris to New York to under ten hours. He cites high altitude flight above 22,000 feet at 300 to 490 mph as the future, with oxygen for passengers and crew. He credits Lindbergh’s solo feat for inspiring rapid aviation advances and notes floating landing fields may help, but regards high speed flight as the key. He remains a pacifist and values aviation for commerce over war, while Paris hotels reportedly host about 100,000 guests.
