Lightning Disrupts Elyria Lorain Power Lines
Lightning battered Ohio Public Service lines between Lorain and Elyria causing brief outages last night. J B Johnson said automatic switches cut in quickly with no outage longer than a half minute, though three of four lines were down at one point and only one line supplied power for about two hours. Direct strikes hit the lines twice, and residents mistook the blackout duration for longer pauses.
