Trustees accepting income tax petitions
Lorain County township trustees and clerks will keep accepting petitions through mid June urging a statewide vote on changing how municipal income taxes are distributed. The plan would allow townships to claim 0.5 percent of residents’ income taxes paid to the cities where they work. Betty Blair said signatures don’t show support, only desire for a vote. The group also moved to back a 0.3 mill levy on the June primary for Lorain County Parks. Columbia Township Trustee Kenneth Roth was appointed to the Lorain County Cable Communications Advisory Committee. The June 17 meeting will be held at the Lorain County Metropolitan Park District building.
