Wind gust tears tent at Grand Junction circus injuring many
In Grand Junction Colorado a violent wind gust toppled one side of a 240 foot tent during a James Bros Circus show injuring 79 people, mostly children. Five remain in critical condition as spectators fled the open air scene. About 900 watched high wire artist Herbert Weber when the wind struck.

Elyria to Get 88000 for Storm Repair
Elyria will receive 88000 of the 163000 federal funds allocated to Lorain County for repairs after the July 4, 1969 storm. Safety Service Director James T. Elyria High students certified to juvenile court for drug use
Seven Elyria High School students, ages 15 and 16 including two girls, are certified to Lorain County juvenile court for admitted marijuana and LSD use. An 18-year-old who claimed to supply drugs is referred to prosecutors. Some drugs were found in a locker. no drugs were used on school grounds. The investigation, led by Officer Bates and pupil personnel officer Steve Chozinski, began April 17 after a tip about drugs at the school.
