The Traveling Messenger Puzzle From Dille's Slate Feast Tales
A seventy five year old company once sent a daily messenger to a distant city at one o clock. On foot the fastest speed was ten mph arriving an hour late while on horse at fifteen mph arriving an hour early. Now air travel at one hundred fifty mph arrives an hour early or slower plane at one hundred mph arrives an hour late. The old distance and current distance are deduced from these clues.
