Oberlin Ceramist builds studio gallery with wife
Ceramic artist Christopher Breuer and his wife Paula renovated an 80 year old Oberlin home on West Hamilton Street. They built Stepping-Stone Gallery addition themselves with one existing kiln for American raku pottery. The grand opening occurs this weekend while plans include events, films, a deck and an outdoor sculpture garden.

Oberlin artist Christopher Breuer, a Wilmette native who studied at Oberlin College and has exhibited work in Boston, Chicago and Cleveland, unveils a Stepping-Stone Gallery at his home at 47361 West Hamilton St. The gallery will be by appointment or event invitation, with a public opening showing a couple hundred pieces over the weekend Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

New London seeks UDAG aid for nursing home project
The New London village council approved an emergency resolution allowing Mayor Marion Paramore to apply for a federal Urban Development Action Grant to fund a nursing home. Health Care Industries of Dayton has optioned land along Ohio Rt 162 W with Wilmer White Sr. and seeks a certificate of need from the Ohio Department of Health. If approved, UDAG funds would hinge on jobs created and financing gaps. the village would earn interest from HCI’s UDAG repayments. Council also heard that Administrator Pat Cassidy will attend a meeting with Huron County Commissioners Monday.
