Vermilion ITT lighting plant possible sale to local buyers
Community Improvement Corporation and Vermilion city council pledged 2 million in industrial revenue bonds to help Richard Kurtz and Russell Chester buy the ITT West River Road plant. The duo, with Joe Langer, plan talks in New York with ITT officials as AT&T contemplates shutting the 215-employee facility by July. If purchased, 110 workers could return after a one week shutdown, with more to follow as conditions permit.
