Explosion Rips Home. Neighbors Rescue Elderly Couple
An explosion ripped an Elyria home from its foundation Friday night, injuring elderly residents Albert Fridenstine and Stella Fridenstine. Neighbors pulled them to safety as the house burned, with damage estimated at 60 thousand dollars for the structure and 31 thousand for contents. The blast likely came from a propane furnace, and two rescuers recall pulling Mrs Fridenstine from the breezeway while both were conscious and in pain.
