Europeans Not Flocking to America's Bicentennial Party

European travel agents report weak U S publicity for the 200th birthday celebration. Despite discounted fares and charter offers, travelers in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, and Britain show little extra interest in visiting the United States this year. Experts cite poor promotion and confusing Bicentennial fares as key factors limiting European travel to the U S during the anniversary year.

Grocery leaders predict frozen foods rise to eight percent

More than 100 grocery industry leaders forecast frozen foods will grow from five to eight percent of store sales by 2000. Hugh E. Cumming of Curtice Burns Inc cites shifts in canned foods down one percent and meat down three percent while fresh produce remains stable.
