May Breakfast Speaks On Christian Motherhood At First Methodist
Approximately 200 members and guests of the Woman's Society for Christian Service heard Mrs. J. W. Basinger speak on A Challenge to Christian Motherhood at the annual May breakfast of the First Methodist Church. She urged mothers to return to homes, emphasized the home as society’s bulwark, and warned of a possible flare of youth problems if guidance erodes. By urging daily family devotions, she tied home training to national stability, noting wartime losses and divorce trends and the need to support families of servicemen. The program opened with student musicians and was led by Mrs. H. L. Cordrey with coordinators and circle chasm en listed in the record.
