Elyria High School officials reported that senior boys who joined the Navy or Marine Corps will not be drafted until after commence ment day June 3. Superintendent Bolin said recruiters assured this and that several seniors have completed or expect to finish high school before service. The district will not deny any senior the chance to enlist if remaining in school would prevent their entry at the desired branch.

Elyria Board Hires Two Teachers and New Secretary
The Elyria City Board of Education approved the employment of two new high school teachers and a new secretary for the principal. Evelyn Rogers was hired as a kindergarten teacher for 1946-47 at 144.50 salary, while Robert Ringer will teach mechanical drawing at 225 a month, succeeding Robert Clague who resigned due to ill health. Eleanor Bruce, a graduate of the high school, was named secretary to the principal at 1494.50 salary, replacing Elizabeth Herold.

Building permits for nine dwellings totaling 70000 were issued yesterday. Inspector Hart Dickason announced. Six houses on Longfellows Street 362 to 382 were issued to Herry Yu Meyer Amherst contractor at 7500 each. Robert Glover at 11 West Avenue secured frame dwellings at 468 and 472 Tenth Street for 3500 each. A G Palm of 1419 Lake Avenue will build a frame dwelling at 1423 Lake Avenue costing 8000.
