Lime method aids corn fields for next crops in Ohio
Ohio State University extension agronomist Earl Jones says applying lime to corn fields after planting improves soil for ensuing wheat or oats. The practice fits into slack work periods and helps incorporate lime with cultivation. If done when corn is a few inches high extra care is needed to avoid damaging the plants.
