Six Killed Five Missing In Alaska Earth Slide

SEWARD Alaska May 12 Six men were reported dead and five missing at a Lynx Creek placer mining camp two miles long buried by an earth slide. The slide, caused by an early thaw, covered a 2 strip 25 feet deep in places. Rescue parties were being outfitted to reach Moose Pass to search for bodies. Names of the dead and missing were not released. The workers were said to be employed by H C Cooper of Seattle.

Quarter Century Dinner for Elyria Firms

Elyria Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a quarter century banquet at First M E Church tomorrow night with about 400 attendees expected. 357 tickets sold by noon. Appeals Court Confirms Five Judgments

The district court of appeals affirmed five common pleas court judgments from recent trials. Joseph Goles of Lorain was sent to the penitentiary for grand larceny after stealing cigarets valued at $54.90 from a Lorain railroad warehouse.
