County official discussion centers on a full investigation of slot machines in the county by Prosecutor Howard R. Butler. Dunn says Butler’s office would prosecute, but funds for investigators are needed. Dunn offers to provide needed money.
SEWARD Alaska May 12 Six men were reported dead and five missing at a Lynx Creek placer mining camp two miles long buried by an earth slide. The slide, caused by an early thaw, covered a 2 strip 25 feet deep in places. Rescue parties were being outfitted to reach Moose Pass to search for bodies. Names of the dead and missing were not released. The workers were said to be employed by H C Cooper of Seattle.
Elyria Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a quarter century banquet at First M E Church tomorrow night with about 400 attendees expected. 357 tickets sold by noon. The event honors firms and workers with 25 years at their present companies, to be addressed by Henry P Boynton of Cleveland, former Elyria Telegram editor.

Washington May 12 Democratic leaders delayed final action by the appropria tions committee on the Work Relief bill. A sub committee cut the bill to 1.009 billion dollars and will wait until President Roosevelt returns from the South to act.
Washington May 12 The House passed and sent to the Senate a bill extending the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years overriding Roosevelt to make it permanent.
Richard J. Ryan a former Elyria High football star from 1929 to 1931 served in the U S Navy air service and helped in the rescue at Lakehurst New Jersey where the Hindenburg crashed. He is the son of Dennis J. and Mrs. Ryan of 375 Furnace Street.
The district court of appeals affirmed five common pleas court judgments from recent trials. Joseph Goles of Lorain was sent to the penitentiary for grand larceny after stealing cigarets valued at $54.90 from a Lorain railroad warehouse. Thaddeus Smith of Elyria had a personal injury verdict reduced from $15,000 to $5,000 against Lorain Police Chief Theodore Walker after a motorcycle collision. Harriett, Lillian, and Martin Janosek’s claims against The Auto Haulaway Company were affirmed with verdicts of $1,650, $425, and $600 respectively for injuries in a traffic accident.
Madrid dispatch reports storm bombardment as rescue teams dig through the ruins of a large apartment building. More than 30 people are trapped in the basement after shelling seals the building following an earlier bombardment in central Madrid.

He sent a private congratulatory telegram, expressed no regrets and appeared happier than ever as Monts and surrounding towns celebrated with radio broadcasts and champagne toasts.
