Cold front brings rain and snow across western plains
United Press International reports a cold front causing rain and snow from the northern Plains through the Rockies to the West Coast. Heavy snow fell in the Sierra and Cascades with travelers warned in the Oregon Cascades and Tahoe Basin. Lower elevations in Montana reached mild 70s while Southwest winds gusted to 40 mph and higher in Flagstaff mountains others.
