Sludge forms faster in cold weather, so regular service is advised.

Dugan's Stay Fresh Donuts proves popular with the dunker fraternity at Dugan's Donut Shop on Lake Avenue and Spruce Street. Owner Leslie Donegan, known as Dugan, says the new stay fresh formula keeps donuts edible for 24 to 36 hours, longer than the 8 to 10 hours of the old recipe. Demand has risen as customers learn of the extended freshness.
Jack Knight Dry Cleaning Co introduces a new pre spotting technique after two months of tests to reduce rewetting and improve garment care. The process spots first with iron remover then soap, minimizing wet cleaning to about one percent, benefiting pastel shades and rayon fabrics. Garments are inspected for repairs and stored in modern refrigerated, insured storage with a two percent valuation fee.
