Judge limits recall referees in Cleveland petitions
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge John L. Angelotta ordered only two supervisors per side to monitor signature validation for the recall of Mayor Dennis J. Kucinich. The ruling limits monitors to workers from the prior shift, as tensions rose between City Clerk Mercedes Cotner and the Kucinich administration over access to petition copies. Recall supporters will gain 20 extra days to collect signatures if necessary.
