Elyria Post Seeks Volunteers for Skywatch Duties
Elyria Ground Observer Corps posts call for volunteers to join skywatching duties across Ohio. Local post reports severe staffing shortages with only about 30 percent of needed personnel, risking removals from operations at times. Organizers aim to recruit hundreds to restore near round the clock coverage and reduce shift lengths. Interested residents can contact scheduling chair Gladys Archibald at 336 Bon Air Ave., Elyria, to schedule shifts and skywatch hours.
