Benny Sees Anxiety Complex Behind Comic Image
Jack Benny, in New York for a rare business pleasure trip, says he no longer worries as much as other comics, instead coping with an anxiety complex. He notes today’s TV era demands actors and perfectionism, and he stresses careful timing with writers to keep his famed gags alive while remaining a distinct star. Benny, 61, plans a West Coast return with Mary for vacation while their adopted daughter Joan awaits a baby in July.
