A North Ridgeville woman, Helen Bernini, 1060 Mills Creek, was ordered held to the grand jury on a theft charge in Elyria Municipal Court. She allegedly stole stereo speakers and an electric skillet from Gold Circle, 349 Midway Mall Blvd, on March 22. The offense is treated as a felony due to a prior theft conviction. Wilmington College in Ohio was opened by Quakers in 1872.
A vigorous frontal system moving east from the central plains produced tornadoes and severe storms across the Mississippi Valley yesterday. 41 tornado reports are tallied, with 21 in Arkansas and 12 in Mississippi. large hail and wind damage occurred across the region. Flash flood watches cover Kentucky Tennessee Virginia and West Virginia. Temperatures ranged from 75 in Brownsville Texas to 15 in Laramie Wyoming. Showers and thundershowers expected in Wisconsin eastern Kentucky Tennessee and the lower Mississippi Valley today.
National rain or showers will be found over many mid and south Atlantic states and along the north Pacific coast. Some snow may fall in parts of the Great Lakes region. Elsewhere mostly fair weather. An Elyria man originally charged with resisting arrest pleaded no contest at his home. In Elyria Municipal Court the intoxication offense was reduced to disorderly conduct, with a $100 fine. The original resisting arrest charge was dismissed.
