Bay Village woman in critical condition after city shooting
Cathy Gebbie 19 of Bay Village was shot in the head while stopped at a traffic light at Bridge Avenue and West 25th Street in Cleveland. She was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition. Her friend Mary Lou Jankowski 23 of Garfield Heights reported the shots and the car’s windows were shattered. Police have no leads on the shooter.

Spinks's fundraising drive falters in Elyria limp attempt
Former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks spent three days in Elyria awaiting contact from a fundraiser for "some kids" but no group or spokesman appeared. Spinks waited near the Holiday Inn, discussed helping kids, and planned to return to training for a fight next month, saying he would come back if contacted. He avoided talking about his next opponent, focusing instead on helping the kids.
