The Security Council convened for another session at the United Nations as delegates resume talks on pressing international issues. Page 4 column 5 indicates continued coverage.
The Ohio Education Association invoked sanctions against the Lorain Board of Education, citing an act of bad faith for not making up three postponed school days. The move follows a 70,000 cost saving and a prior local boycott, with officials fearing the action could sink a May levy. The sanctions will be sent to districts statewide and to colleges and universities.
American fighter bombers struck 165 North Vietnamese trucks carrying military supplies to besieged troops along the DMZ. Reports say North Vietnamese 37mm anti aircraft guns appeared around Khe Sanh for the first time in the war, posing a new aerial threat to the Marine stronghold. Ground fighting continued across South Vietnam as U S forces pressed operations and hit targets from air and ground.

Captain Gary W. Perkins 26 of Wellington was killed in action in Vietnam on March 12 while flying a combat mission near Chu Lai. His parents and wife with two children are en route to bring him home for full military services in Wellington at Greenwood Cemetery. Perkins, a 1960 Wellington High School graduate and Ohio University degree holder, served with the First Air Cavalry Division after enlisting in 1964.
A spring storm sweeps from the lower Mississippi Valley into the Deep South with sleet and rain. Ohio reports snowfall as high as four inches in southwestern and central areas, while Kentucky and Tennessee see eight inches in places. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution as hazardous driving warnings extend from southern Illinois to Louisiana. Temperatures dip in the North while the East and South warm to near record highs in places like Richmond, Virginia. MEYER GOLDBERG'S SUPER MARKET advertises low prices on chicken shrimp and rib steaks.
A 24 year old Akron man, Johnel Prude of Bellows Avenue, was arrested at the Travelers Inn on Route 10 by Det. Sgt. Steve Yonkof after police found a .32 caliber revolver in his jacket. Authorities say the car he drove was stolen in Marion County and Prude faces charges for carrying a concealed weapon.
The school board recognizes the Spencer Black River Teacher Association as the bargaining agent for teachers. The notice appears on page 21 detailing the recognition and implications for collective bargaining.

Medina County Superintendent Harold White declared an incompatible situation for Black River board member Lawrence Scheck who teaches in Cloverleaf district. Scheck resigned from the board last night rather than quit teaching, a conflict considered under a 1959 state ruling.
In Paris the price of gold rose amid reports of a new de Gaulle attack on the pound and the dollar. A 2.2 pound ingot moved to 1237 dollars, up 22 dollars from the previous day, with an unofficial high of 39 dollars an ounce. Demand forced a second trading round as supplies remained short.
