Lorain real estate mogul Jon Veard Sr. dies at 83
Jon Veard Sr. 83 of Elyria died Friday after a brief illness. A Navy veteran, he built United Property Management from a single rental into dozens of Lorain properties and beyond. Known for tireless work ethic, he mentored family and shaped downtown Lorain through development with Public Finance and later his own firm. His son remembers daily lunches and shared work until recently.
