Ohio Supreme Court scales back court records limits
The Ohio Supreme Court backs off proposed rules restricting access to court records such as birth dates and addresses. A 19 member commission said limits were unnecessary, citing identity theft fears and the need for transparency in public records while noting some data existed only in records. Critics urged local courts retain control and maintain open access. The panel will vote on modifications in June pending full court approval.
