Man drownings after police chase in Elyria Black River
The body of Leonard Bryant, 26, was recovered from the Black River near Cascade Park around 1 p.m. Sunday by Elyria firefighters. Police said Bryant fled from a Forest Street fight call Saturday night, led officers on a chase through Cascade Park to the river and reentered the water twice before drowning. Witnesses noted Bryant’s boots and black hat floating as the river was estimated at about 2 feet deep.
