Police await ruling in Lorain stab death
Lorain County coroner Dr. Paul Matus said he expects a ruling in a day or two on the death of 41 year old Eric Pastor who bled to death from eight stab wounds. Pastor known as Deaf Eric was found in a hallway of a house at Seneca and East 30th streets and pronounced dead at CHP Regional Medical Center shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday.

Man who took gun won’t be charged
Amherst police will not charge Donald Gregg 29 of Vermilion who disarmed Robert Gonzalez 50 of Lorain during a midnight hostage incident in front of The Mermaid's Tale on Church Street. Officers had drawn their weapons as Gregg advanced with the gun toward them.
