Immigrant Man Loses Home After Demolition

Chester Plaski, 61, a Polish immigrant and World War II concentration camp survivor, returned from work to find his southeast Cleveland home demolished after a prior fire. Neighbors say a condemnation order was followed, but Plaski tore down the sign and lost all personal belongings and workshop machinery stored in the garage. He slept in a separate house on the same property as officials affirmed proper notice and procedures.

Israel rejects Hussein plan for Palestinian state with Jerusalem as capital

Prime Minister Golda Meir told the Knesset the Jordanian plan to create a semi autonomous Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital cannot serve as a basis for peace. Nixon to Visit Moscow for May 22 Summit

Gilligan signs bill cutting rail crews in Ohio
