State sued for 550000 over Kent State killings and guard action
Ohio sued for 550000 in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court over alleged negligent actions by National Guard at Kent State University disturbances on May 4 1970. Robert Stamps 21 of South Euclid wounded when guards opened fire, four students killed. Stamps seeks 500000 damages and his father 50000 for loss of services. The suit marks a negligence ruling that the state can be sued.
