Colubmia boy killed after running into traffic on Rt 82

A 9 year old Columbia boy, Kerry Hedglen, was struck and killed by a westbound car on State Route 82 near Janell Drive. He died at Southwest Community Hospital Berea after suffering head and body injuries. The driver, Hildegard Jensen, 60, said she swerved to miss him. Kerry was a third grade student at St Joseph's School Strongsville. He is survived by his parents and three sisters. Funeral plans are underway at Jardine Funeral Home.

Three inmates recaptured after Erie County Jail escape

Former President Lyndon B. Johnson recuperates at his Lyndon B. Johnson Ranch in Johnson City Texas after a 12 day Brooke General Hospital visit for chest pains. Doctors recommend no strenuous activity during his recovery and Johnson returned home yesterday following the hospitalization.
